TUESDAY

Meeting: The Chad Allen Arnette Families and Friends of Murder and Homicide Victims support group of Robeson County will hold its monthly support and advocacy group meeting on Tuesday at The Bible Alive Ministries at the Floyd Mortuary and Bible Alive Ministries building at 809 E. Fifth St.

Parenting program: The Southeastern Family Violence Center will hold a parenting program for families with children ages 6 to 12 years old beginning Tuesday and continuing Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for 14 weekly sessions at 108 W. Ninth St.

Transportation and a light meal, as well as child care will be provided at each meeting, which seeks to strengthen families.

Upon completion, program participants receive a $20 gift card.

Moonlight canoe ride: Lumber River State Park will hold a Moonlit Canoe Trip down the Lumber River on Wednesday starting at the Princess Ann Access Area at 9 p.m.

The trip will take about two hours, and all participants must be able to swim. Bring flash lights or head lamps, water and any other necessary items.

Motorcycle run: The “Spirit Riders,” will hold a motorcycle back-to-school run to benefit Union Elementary School on Sunday. Registration will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. and the riders will leave at 2:30 p.m. from the C&P Mini Mart in Pembroke.

The cost is $10 per rider or $15 per couple.

Museum Volunteers: The Robeson County History Museum seeks volunteers to help open the museum and greet visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until noon in April and May.

Museum Exhibit: A case exhibit of artifacts from the wreck, Queen Anne’s Revenge, Blackbeard’s flagship, will be on display at the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex from March 10 through May 31. The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Open house: The Mill Prong House will be open the first Sunday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. A docent is available to lead visitors through this Scottish Heritage House, built in 1795 by Scottish immigrants.
