LUMBERTON — A 54-year-old Lumberton man has been charged with stabbing his brother to death this morning, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Ira Frederick Locklear, of 3267 Saddletree Road, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his brother, 53-year-old Vickie Locklear, according to sheriff’s Capt. Anthony Thompson. The two brothers lived next door to each other.
Ira Locklear is being held in the Robeson County jail without bond.
Vickie Locklear was found dead in the bedroom of his 3223 Saddletree Road home at about 7:22 a.m. today, Thompson said. Thompson said investigators don’t know what led to the murder.
Ira Locklear has previously faced charges of misdemeanor stalking, breaking and entering, assault on a state officer, communicating threats and larceny of a motor vehicle, according to jail records.
