Assembly set

for Saturday

LUMBERTON — Historic Thousands on Jones Street will hold an assembly in Robeson County on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heaven Bound New Vision Church at 218 Harrell Road.

HKonJ and state and local NAACP leaders will discuss such topics as strategies on building coalitions; voter education/empowerment; HKonJ 14-point people’s agenda; voter suppression awareness; state and local budget awareness; and equal protection under the law.

The event is being sponsored by the Robeson County Unified NAACP chapter.

Pet adoption

LUMBERTON — Franny’s Friends will hold a pet adoption from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Frank’s Furniture at 2600 Fayetteville Road. Donations of dog and cat food, cat litter, blankets, leashes, collars, beds and bowls are greatly needed.

Black Caucus

meets Saturday

LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Black Caucus will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Weed & Seed building on Martin Luther King Drive.

Early voting and other issues will be discussed.
