LUMBERTON — Robeson County Sheriff Ken Sealey will ask the Board of Commissioners on Monday to scrap the county’s current noise-control ordinance and reinstate the ordinance that was law in 1993.
According to the meeting’s agenda, Sealey wants to see changes in the current 2005 noise control ordinance so that it is more enforceable. Sealey contends that the Sheriff’s Office cannot enforce the current ordinance because of its designated decibal levels.
Tom Norton, clinical director for Palmer Prevention Program Inc., is also slated to address the commissioners. He plans to address the commissioners concerning money that is being spent to provide services to the county’s American Indian population.
In other business, the commissioners will:
— Hear a presentation about services available to county veterans. The presentation will be made by Chris Oxendine, director for the county’s Department of Veterans Affairs.
— Consider a resolution adopting the county’s Solid Waste Management Plan.
— Consider an agreement regarding economic incentives for Campbell Soup Company. The company has been expanding its Maxton facility.
The meeting on Monday will begin at 6 p.m. in the commissioners room of the county administration building on North Elm Street.

As for loud music.. they're idiots wanting to get people to look at em. I don't want to hear other peoples loud base filled rap music either. But ask anyone in Robeson County about the love of the Harley-Davidson's enchanting beautiful mellow sound of pipes bellowing out the sweet sound of SAFETY.
PS, and we don't listen to loud rap music either.
and to the editor when did you start allowing vulger language on this site?
