FAIRMONT — A 21-year-old Fairmont man has been arrested and charged with setting fire to a home he shared with his father, who died three days after entering the home after the blaze had been extinguished.

It’s not clear if the death on Saturday of 65-year-old Rudolph Revels is related to the fire, which occurred on Wednesday.

Rudolph Jamemack Justin Revels Jr., of 5427 E. McDonald Road, was arrested on Saturday morning and is charged with second-degree arson and felony burning of personal property. He is being held at Robeson County jail under a $10,000 bond.

His father died at Southeastern Regional Medical Center on Saturday night, according to sheriff’s Lt. Brian Duckworth. Revels was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after he collapsed in his home while gathering items after the fire had been extinguished, Duckworth said.

Neighbors who saw the fire called 911 at 10:27 a.m. on Wednesday, Duckworth said. Revels Jr. was seen leaving the home minutes before the call came in, he said.

Revels Jr. set fire to the home in seven places, Duckworth said. He said “accelerants” were found at several locations.

Fire marshals and agents from the State Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation.

Never seen one make the "monkey face" for his mug shot...wow...maybe he's providing evidence for his insanity plea.

Looks like the "acting" President to me. I bet it's a democrat. Another fine example of why Robeson County needs FREE birth control. And 20 years to life for parent's(?) of THINGS like this that don't use it.
