LUMBERTON — State Reps. Charles Graham and Garland Pierce, both Democrats, are sponsoring an old- fashioned cookout from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Southeastern Agricultural Center/Farmers Market. The event is a fundraiser for the the two legislators.
Linda Coleman, the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, will be the keynote speaker. A representative of Walter Dalton, the Democratic candidate for governor, is also expected to attend.
Other invited guests include: N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper; N.C. Auditor Beth Wood; Walter Smith, Democratic candidate for N.C. Commissioner of Agriculture; N.C. Commissioner of Insurance Wayne Goodwin; John Brooks, Democratic candidate for N.C. Commissioner of Labor; and Secretary of State Elaine Marshall.
Tickets for the cookout are $100. The campaigns of Graham and Pierce can be sponsored at three levels: Gold, $1,000; Silver, $500; and Bronze, $250.
