To the Editor,
I am sick and tired of people repeating the lies and propaganda spread by the Grand Old Tea Party. People really need to look at something other than FOX News and listen to someone other than Rush Limbaugh, the tangential leader of the party.
Save the republic. What do you mean by this?
The republic has been put in the position it is in because of the GOTP. Spending money like they have trees on the capital lawn. Now they want to place all the blame on the poor and the needy among us, those that we as Christians have been charged by Jesus to help. I keep hearing the word conservative being thrown around, but from what I have seen, there is nothing conservative about the Republican Party. When I hear that word, my mind envisions white sheets and pointed hats. They are the party that use the strategies of Adolf Hitler in Mein Kampf, which is keep repeating the lie until it is believed. This is how the Klan and white supremacy groups get and keep their followers.
I thank the good Lord that Jesse Helms, Strum Thurman, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan helped to move these people over to the Republican Party. I miss the Old Republican Party. They would get things done. They would try to make life a little easier for all of us. Now all they want to do is bring back slavery so that they can get richer at our expense. From lies about voter ID laws, to tax hikes on the regular worker, to out and out lying, cheating and stealing.
In the past, I would do my research and vote for the person that would work to help me as well as my community, but not anymore. I don’t want my daughters to have to deal with the kind of crap that the Republican Party will be dealing. I can’t take people lying to me especially when it is to easy to find out the truth. Trust is earned. Stupid is as stupid does.

Your claim that the Republicans have overspent is the only accusation that holds any water. However, their spending doesn't hold a candle to the spending that has occurred under the Democrat controlled Congress from 2006-2010 and the Democrat controlled White House. The Democrat controlled Senate hasn't passed a budget in three years while the annual deficit has been over $1,000,000,000,000 during that time. So while you are correct, there's not much to be proud of fiscally on the other side of the aisle.
As for your appeal to Christ, He never once said we should vote for politicians that take from one of your neighbors to give it to another neighbor. He called for personal charity and giving. The government is no substitute.

First there is no GOTP. You have the GOP(the party of the EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION) and then you have the Tea Party(the party of save the republic)

Conservative is not a political party it's an ideology.If you live in Shannon, YOU are probably a conservative. As for you having visons of white sheets and pointed hats, I'm sure your doctor can give you a referral.
You name all the names of people who were in the republican party years ago and and in the same sentence state you miss the old party. Make up your mind. I suggest you go BACK to doing your research because regarding your last line. Your right. I'm sure your a very smart person, but this letter you wrote makes you look very stupid
