PEMBROKE — There will be a Bike Run to benefit Michael Sampson, who is battling cancer, on Sept. 23 starting at the C & P Mini Mart on Union Chapel Road. Registration will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for a single rider and $15 for a couple.

LUMBERTON — The River Roots Arts Guild is accepting submissions for sculpture, paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, collage, ceramics and fiber arts for a juried art show, which will take place on Sept. 13 at the Carolina Civic Center.

Submissions will be taken between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 11. The entry fee is $10 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry for non-members of the guild.

LUMBERTON — The First Presbyterian Church of Lumberton is accepting applications for vendors at its Leaping Lizards Craft and Home Show on Oct. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Oct. 19 from noon to 8 p.m.

The event will be held in the activities building at 1002 N. Chestnut St. All proceeds from vendor rentals will go to Lumberton Christian Care.

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the town of Pembroke are accepting applications to participate in Pembroke Day on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Clubs and organizations, arts and crafts vendors and area businesses are eligible to apply. The deadline is Sept. 7.

PEMBROKE — Cummings Farms will hold its third annual dove hunt on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. on the corner of North Chicken and Parnell roads.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youths 16 and under and $5 for children not hunting. Proceeds from ticket sales go to families in need with medical bills and expenses.
