‘Celebrate’ is

about driving

LUMBERTON — State Farm and the Lumberton Police Department will hold an event on Sept. 15 to educate teenagers on the dangers of driving while distracted.

“Celebrate My Drive” will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at Twin Oaks Plaza on Fayetteville Road.

Teens will attempt to text while driving a golf cart through a simulated road course. Teens will also have a chance to win a new car, and schools will have an opportunity to win a grant valued at $100,000.

Snacks and other giveaways will be provided.

For information, call State Farm representatives Josh Whitley at 910-739-8129 or Clay Hamilton at 910-738-4611.
