Garrett Alford, 21, of 1125 Linwood Ave., died Sept. 4, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton, officiated by Rev. T.R. Murray. Burial will follow at Singletary Cemetery.
He is survived by a son, A’Lijah Alford; his mother Julia Kennedy of Lumberton; a sister, Destinie Alford of Lumberton; three brothers, Kendrick Alford and Journey Alford of Lumberton, and Isiah Kennedy of Greensboro.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, at First Baptist Church of Lumberton and other times at the home.
Worley Mortuary of Fairmont is serving the family.

Rev. Paul Britt, Jr., “The Icy Man,” 79, of 2394 Alamac Road, died Sept. 6, 2012 at UNC-Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at West Lumberton Baptist Church, with Glenn Grant officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Neal Britt; his parents, Paul Britt, Sr. and Livie Benton Britt; his brothers, Albert Britt, Harvey Britt, Charlie Britt; three sisters, Margaret Parker, Lillie M. Britt and Dorothy B. Britt; and a daughter, Diane Britt Hester.
Surviving are his daughters; Paulette B. Collins of Wilmington, Mary L. Baysdon, Betty “Carlene” Britt and Rosalene H. Abrams, all of Lumberton; a brother, Marvin Britt of Lumberton; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Mary L. Bayson of 359 Rice Road in Lumberton.
