Following Godwin’s lead was teammate Jade Hunt who shot a 90. Emily Chavis and Tala Locklear rounded out Swett’s 414 stroke count with a 118 and 119, respectively.
Claiming the league opener was Pinecrest with a 315, led by medalist Gabby Weiss who posted a 68. Scotland finished in the runner-up spot at 368 while Hoke took fourth at 427 and Richmond finished fifth at 467.
Lumberton failed to field a complete team therefore did not register a score.
Red Springs soccer outdone by Hoke
RAEFORD — The Red Springs High School boys soccer team ran out of gas in the second half to take a 4-2 loss to Hoke County in a non-conference match Monday at Hoke High. The Red Devils (4-2) were even with the Bucks (6-1) at halftime, 2-2, before being outscored 2-0 in the second stanza. Nicolas Avila and Luis Reyes scored goals for Red Springs.
