Robert Lee “Bobby” Floyd

Robert Lee “Bobby” Floyd, 63, of 702 S. Austin St, formerly of Lumberton, died Sept. 11, 2012, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Holiness Church, the Apostle Amelia McLean officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, LaRuth Floyd of the home; two sons, Lavisca E. Bullard of Raleigh and Alexander Bullard of Salem; one daughter, Brenda Ann Floyd of Lumberton; two brothers, William Floyd and Grover Floyd, both of Lumberton; and three sisters, Sarah Floyd and Estella Suggs, both of Lumberton, and Deloris Floyd of Charlotte.

Hubert Gordon Carroll

Bladenboro

Hubert Gordon Carroll, 79, of Bladenboro, died Sept. 13, 2012.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home, the Rev. David Rutland officiating. Burial will follow in New Pait Cemetery.

Surviving are; one sister, Elizabeth Byrd; two brothers, Eugene Carroll and M.C. Carroll Jr; his wife, Janice Carroll of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Rowe of Taylors, S.C.; two sons, Eugene Carroll and Jeff Carroll of Bladenboro; one sister, Luella Wike of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and one step-great- grandchild.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.

Agnes Graham Holcombe

Agnes Graham Holcombe, 91, of 503 E. Church St, died Sept. 12, 2012, at Morrison Manor.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Rowland Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Monroe officiating.

She is survived by two brothers, James Graham of Georgia and N.J. Graham of Rowland; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ashpole Presbyterian Church.

Boles Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Rowland is serving the family.

Betty Strickland, 65, of Maxton, died Sept. 13, 2012.

The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Maxton First Assembly Church, the Rev. Gary McMillan officiating. Burial will follow in the Strickland family cemetery.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Dale Locklear and Timmy Ray Locklear; two brothers, Angus Strickland Jr. and L.C. Strickland; two sisters, Irene Smiling and Annie Ruth Strickland; three grandchildren, Amanda Gail Smiling, Samantha Gail Smiling and Joshua Smiling; her children, Rodney Harry Strickland of Maxton, Robin Locklear Smiling of Laurinburg, and Dale Locklear Jones of Laurinburg; sisters, Loula Mae Smiling of Maxton, Janie Oxendine Maynor of Pembroke; and seven grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Troy Marshall Smith

Troy Marshall Smith, 79, died Sept. 14, 2012, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital.

The graveside service will be 11 a.m. at Briar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., the Rev. Carlton Bryant officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Jane W. Smith; a son, Michael T. Smith of Bladenboro; three daughters, Donna F. Ward, Dianna K. Russell and Deborah S. Davis, all of Tar Heel; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother; and six sisters.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.

Larry Eugene Oxendine

Pembroke

Larry Eugene Oxendine, 65, of 1268 Faith Road, died Sept 13, 2012, at his home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Jimmy Strickland and Bobby D. Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Oxendine is survived by his three sons, Prather G. Oxendine of Lumberton, and Larry Eugene Oxendine Jr. and Justin Oxendine, both of Pembroke; three daughters, Veronica Oxendine of Lumberton, and Jessica Lee Oxendine and Amy O. Morgan, both of Pembroke; three brothers, Anthony Oxendine and George Oxendine Jr., both of Pembroke, and Randy Oxendine of the home; a sister, Joanne O. Ramey of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
