LUMBERTON — The trial of Adam Rozier, who is charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Chad Allen Arnette, will begin on Monday, according to District Attorney Johnson Britt.

Jury selection in the trial began on July 16, but Assistant District Attorney Tony Berk delayed the trial after Lumberton police Officer Jeremiah Goodson was shot to death the next day.

Berk, who is prosecuting the case, said at the time he postponed the case because it would have called for testimony from several Lumberton police officers who were still mourning Goodson.

Berk said he expects a 10-day trial based on the length of the trial of Drew Floyd, who was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in Arnette’s death and sentenced to serve at least three years in prison on Sept. 20, 2011. Rozier is accused of provoking Floyd to stab Arnette with a kitchen knife.
