UNCP offers professional HR training

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Regional Center will offer two sessions of the Society of Human Resource Management certification preparation course for those wanting to take the Professional Human Resources or Senior Professional Human Resources exams.

The fall session will be Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 and continue Oct.19 and Oct. 20. They are daylong sessions with the exception of first session, which will be from noon to 5 p.m.

The spring session will be from March 8 and March 9 and continue March 22 and March 23. All training will take place in the Regional Center auditorium, located in COMtech Park near Pembroke.

The course is $675 and the class instructor is Kay Robinson, who is currently the principal of Robinson HR Consulting and once served as the director of HR Consulting Services with RSM McGladrey in Wilmington.

Robinson has been a consultant and practitioner in the field of human resources for more than 25 years and has served as assistant vice chancellor for human resources at UNC Wilmington.
