The tournament format is four-person captain’s choice, and play begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost for a single player is $100 and includes lunch, a goody bag, cart and greens fees. Sponsorship opportunities range from $100 to $1,000.

The Bill Alston Memorial Golf Tournament, which honors a longtime and popular golfer at Pinecrest Country Club, is scheduled for Thursday with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be served at noon.
The tournament, which is sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church, raises money to support the ministry and its work throughout Robeson County. A minimum $50 donation is asked for in order to participate.

Larry McNeill made his third-ever hole-in-one on Sept. 14 when he knocked in a hybrid shot on No. 7. McNeill was playing with Donnie Beck, David Marsh and James Hurbert Oxendine.

The fifth annual Farmers Festival Golf Tournament will be held at Fairmont Golf Club on Oct. 19 with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
