LUMBERTON — A 33-year-old Lumberton man has died from a wound he suffered Thursday night when he was shot, according to Lumberton police Capt. Johnny Barnes.
Ronnie Glenn Martin, 33, of 125-A Lovette Road, was shot at about 9:38 p.m. at the Gas and Go at 905 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, according to Barnes. When police arrived at the scene Martin was laying in the parking lot, bleeding. He was was transported by ambulance to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he died.
A person who answered the phone this morning at the convenience store said he was not working last night, and no one who was working at that time was available to speak with a reporter.
Detective Charles Leavitt is investigating. Lumberton police are asking anyone with information to call 910-671-3845. Callers can remain anonymous.
Martin becomes the third person this week to have been murdered, all from gunshot wounds.
On Tuesday, Paul Locklear was found dead in a 2003 Range Rover on Persimmon Road near Rowland, and Thursday morning, Moses Robinson, of 905 E. 10th St., was shot dead in the front yard of his home.
No arrests have been made in either case.
