Someone should lose job for security breach at the BOE

To the Editor,

I just read how my personal information was stolen from the Board of Elections building sometime between July 18 and Sept. 4. I also read that a paid employee used two volunteers to move material from one location to another. Then I read how letters were sent to all registered voters on or about Sept. 12. Well, today is Oct. 3 and there are two registered voters living in my household who have yet to be notified.

Who is responsible for this fiasco? The employee who let unauthorized people handle sensitive information should have been fired, but I would be willing to bet that has not happened. He or she is probably a relative of a county commissioner. Whoever said that those letters were mailed out on Sept. 12 should be fired or at least reprimanded because a) a lot of people have not received those letters and b) two of my neighbors received their letters on Sept. 29 or Oct. 1. I don’t think a letter took that long to travel 18 miles.

Someone should be held responsible for this terrible breach of confidentiality. I am afraid that, as usual in Robeson County, this will be swept under the run by the county manager and county commissioners.

Good example of how the GRAFT and CORRUPTION and just plain out INCOMPETENCE can be found EVERYWHERE in your Robeson County government. ALL on the take, and ALL CROOKS. And now we see how they have another CROOK to help them keep getting "re-elected".
