The fifth annual Fairmont Farmers Festival Golf Tournament will be held at Fairmont Golf Club on Oct. 19 with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $50 per player and includes cart and green fees, mulligan, red tee, range balls, prizes, lunch and dinner.

The team of David Lowry Jr., Chris Jackson, Mickey Strickland and Brad “Legend” Locklear shot a 22-under-par 50 on Tuesday to win the fifth annual Givens Performing Arts Center golf tournament at Pinecrest Country Club.

The team had five eagles, 12 birdies and a single par in beating the runner-up team of Larry McNeill, Donnie Beck, Carlton Dial and Tommy Britt by 5 strokes.

The team of Jay Britt, Lemark Harris, Chuck Smith and Glenn Walters came in third.

Texas Scramble winners from Sept. 26 were Richard Lowery, Dilly Hunt and Mel Britt. Texas Scramble winners from Sept. 18 were John Lahey, Richard Lowery and Charlie Bruce. The special event winner was Richard Lowery.

Senior Shootout winners from Tuesday were: championship flight, Mel Britt and Tommy Sipka; first flight, Andy Warner and Donald Barnes; second flight, Gene Brumbles and Billy Smith. Donald Barnes, Lawrence McDuffie, Marshall McDonald, Billy Smith and Richard Cook won special events.

The next Senior Shootout is Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
