Maxton
Carl Gene Collins, 62, of 1364 Red Hill Road, formerly of 421 Lacy Road, was born March 15, 1950, to the late Lacy and Katie Collins and departed this life Oct. 12, 2012, at his residence.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Thompson’s Funeral Home, the Revs. Steve Whetzel, Grady Chavis and Larry Locklear Officiating. Burial will follow in Island Grove Memorial Park.
In addition to his parents, Collins was preceded in death by two brothers, James Hersley Collins and Brent Edward Collins.
Collins leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Diane Collins of the home; two sons, Carlos G. Collins and wife Rachel of Richmond, Va., and Patrick G. Collins and wife Amy of Maxton; the mother of his children, Martha L. Collins of Maxton; three stepdaughters, Tabitha Bryant of Pembroke, and Katina Bryant and Stefanie Collins, both of Maxton; a stepson, Roberts Jacobs of Lumberton; two brothers, Larry Collins and James Harold Collins, both of Maxton; three sisters, Beatrice Oxendine and Delores Jean McGirt, both of Maxton, and Nancy Carol Hamm of Wise; seven grandchildren, Justin, Leigh-Kendra, Christian G., Dustin, Christian J., Grayson and Carly; four stepgrandchildren, Alaric-Avery, Aidan, Baileigh and Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.

Willie Carvie Jacobs, 86, of 24 Beulah’s Farm Drive, died Oct. 10, 2012, at his home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bear Swamp Baptist Church, the Revs. Timmie Chavis and Anthony Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Oxendine Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Jacobs of the home; two sons, Keith E. Jacobs of Charlotte and Benton Jacobs of Pembroke; three daughters, Joan M. Harris of Pembroke, Mona A. Russell of Holly Springs and Audrey J. Delgado of Corpus Christi, Texas.; two brothers, James S. Jacobs and Morean Jacobs Jr., both of Pembroke; two sisters, Fannie J. Hunt of Orlando, Fla., and Annie L. Locklear of Pembroke; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Bear Swamp Baptist Church.

Annie Ruth Stanton, 67, of Bennettsville, S.C., died Oct. 9, 2012, at Cheraw Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Godwin Chapel AME Zion Church, the Rev. McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in Aaron Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheumae Stanton of Bennettsville and Felicia Stanton of Cheraw, S.C.; two brothers, Marvin and Melvin Stanton, both of Bennettsville; two sisters, Diane and Mattie Stanton, both of Bennettsville; and two grandchildren.

Hubert Graham, 80, of 1840 U.S. 74 West, died Oct. 10, 2012, at Golden Living Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home, the Revs. Jerry McNeill and James A. Hunt officiating.
He is survived by three sons, Hubert Brain Graham of Fairmont, and Ertle Patrick Moore and Jimmy Ray Moore, both of Lumberton; four brothers, Steve Graham, J.R. Graham and Narson Graham, all of Lumberton, and Thomas Graham of Hope Mills; four sisters, Helen Eller, Catherine Graham and Dorthy Graham Chavis, all of Lumberton, and Virginia Durden of St. Pauls; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
