Ms. Denise McNeill and Mr. Dexter McNeill of Lumberton announce the engagement of their daughter, Christy Michelle McNeill to Charles Taylor Lowry, son of Mr. Ricky and Mrs. Cindy Lowry of Pembroke.
McNeill is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Willie Foster and Mrs. Anne Locklear of Lumberton, and the late Mr. Dewey and Mrs. Coethea McNeill of Lumberton.
Lowry is the grandson of Mr. Isiah Jr. and Mrs. Elton Lee Taylor of Fairmont and Mr. Billy Lowry Jr. and Mrs. Minnie Lowry of Pembroke.
The wedding will be held on Oct. 28th at Lu Mil Vineyards in Dublin.
Hunt-Hunt
Hervie and Dr. Joshephine announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Nicole Hunt and retired Sgt. First Class Dwayne Hunt of Pembroke, the son of the late William Datris Hunt of Lumberton and Mary E. Oxendine of Pembroke. Melanie is also the daughter of the late Earl Cranston Strickland of Fairmont.
Melanie is the granddaughter of the late Josheph and Betty Ruth Locklear of Fairmont and the late Earl and Velma Strickland of Fairmont, and Jessie and Mary Lee Locklear of Pembroke. She attended Orrum High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, earning a bachelor’s degree of Arts and a master’s degree in Public Administration. She works for Richmond Community College in the Workforce Economic Development Department.
Dwayne is the grandson of the late Mary Jacobs Hunt of Fairmong and Cornelius Ball and Pearlie Hunt of Raynham. He attended West Robeson High School and Robeson Community College. He retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service and civil service at Fort Bragg. He is self-employed.
The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Kingston Plantation at the Hilton in Myrtle Beach.
Locklear-Oxendine
Mr. and Mrs. Laney Locklear Sr. of Union Chapel announce the engagement of their daughter LaCinda Lora Locklear of Lumberton to Peter Duel Oxendine, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Petter Oxendine Jr. of Lumberton.
Locklear is the granddaughter of the late Ashby and Pearlie Locklear of Prospect, and the late Duckery and Flora Ellen Oxendine of Union Chapel, and Everlyn Grace Sampson of Lumberton. She attended Purnell Swett High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and works for the Public Schools of Robeson County.
Oxendine is the grandson of the late James Sanford and Rose Lee Jones of Lumberton and the late McClelland Locklear and Annie Bell Oxendine of Raeford. He attended Purnell Swett High School and Robeson Community College and works for Lumberton Chevrolet.
A barn wedding will be held on Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. The reception will take place at Union Chapel Baptist Church.
Jackson-Nolley
Frank and Barbara Jackson of Lumberton announce the engagement of their daughter, Erika Nicole Jackson to Brian Scott Nolley, the son of Robert and Susan Nolley of Lumberton.
Jackson is the granddaughter of the late Oliver and Inez Jackson, John “J.W.” Blackmon and Faye Blackmon, and the late Jonnie Faye Blackmon. She attended Lumberton Senior High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Nolley is the grandson of the late Rev. and Mrs. Glen Lawrence and the late Mr. and Mrs. Royal Nolley. He attended Lumberton Senior High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the East Lumberton Baptist Church.
