When you vote, remember qualities of real president

To the Editor,

What is a real president? A real president is a man or woman who is honest and has a deep trust in God, and an abiding love for this country. He should have successful experience running a business or serving in the Armed Services. He is well educated, thoughtful and slow to anger. He realizes that one person cannot know everything and, therefore, will surround himself with really intelligent people that have great knowledge in their field. He will be well-versed in American and world history, so that he knows what has worked in the past and what has not worked. He will be willing to protect our freedoms and value world peace. He needs to be unselfish and dedicated to serving all of the people and not be focused on his re-election. A real president will look us in the eye and tell it like it is and express himself clearly and inspire the people. He will work hard to free us to be the independent people who built this great country, and not want us to be dependent on government in order to assure our future votes.

A real president does not lead solely by pretty, empty speeches. It is not important that celebrities like him, that he looks and acts cool, or play basketballs, or sings. None of these things are important to a good leader, none will keep us safe or protect our freedom or help the economy. No, not one of these will find you a job or assure your children a good and safe future.

Think on these things on Nov. 6 when you stand in that voting booth.

Evelyn Smith

Lumberton, N.C.

The Word of God says that a double-minded person is unstable in all of his ways. Do you want an unstable person in a leadership position? Anyone can call himself a Christian. As a matter of fact, one can proclaim himself to be anything he wishes. But that does not make it so. I could call myself a car - but if you look and examine, your eyes *and* your mind will tell you something differently about me. I just don't understand how all of the lies of one of the candidates can be tied up in a box marked "Christian" - causing people to blindly follow regardless of the facts.

dancin, I have no racial guilt, therefore I'm free to say what others are thinking and want to say, but are afraid someone like you will call them racist. I'm not afraid of that word, never have been, never will be.

What you and some others are angry with is the truth. You know deep down inside what I say is true, you have no reply that can make what I say to be a lie so you just yell out RACIST.. Go ahead, but we know I don't lie. And believe me, many people around here agree with me, just can't bring themselves to say it... I'm the silent majorities voice!

Ps. And remember in the liberal world of loonies, I'm allowed to say, act, scream, and yell what ever I want and I still get a pass. Don't believe me? Ask Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, who've all made stupid racial remarks. By the way, my remarks aren't stupid....

If the sorry same-sex marriage democrats would appropriate more money for basketballs, there'd be a drop in the crime rate.

I'm white and love to play basketball. It's folks like you that cause whites to be hated in this country and across the globe. You can't accept others for who they are and you're always assuming all people are the same for whatever race they claim. Get a life punk! Your nothing but a white bigot trying to solve all the world's problems through white supremacy. Those days are over and thank God we can all have equal treatment. Until we whites become slaves and treated as a second citizen for over 500yrs. we should STFU about blacks and indians who we held hostage since Christy Columbus.

Mustardslastand: Sir you have a disease known as "white guilt". You feel like you need to be accepted and loved by others so you claim hatrid of your own race in hopes other races will love you... I have no guilt, none, zadda, period. I love me and have never done wrong to anyone based on their race. As far as what happened to them here 200 years ago, I wern't here, and the same thing happened to whites 500 years ago, slavery. Every race in the world at one time were slaves...

Ps. Here's some medicine, Only 3% of whites owned slaves, you know what percentage of free blacks owned black slaves?... 4%. So as a percentage, blacks were more likely to own one of their own than whites. 3% white, 4% free blacks. And that's not counting the owners in Africa selling them to the whites. Hoped that made you feel better about yourself, Lord knows you need it.

PSS. And, ummm... I ain't white either, therfore you can't call me a biggot, punk, or racist... In the liberal democrat world, I get a pass, I'm exempt... Ha ha, this stuff is too funny... Ross.

Ms. Smith,

I had you figured all wrong! What a lovely endorsement by you of our President Obama. I would've had you down as a supporter of ole Mitt until I read this letter and it became obvious that you were not talking about the candidate who made his fortune by buying companies OTHERS had built, LOOTING them, then DISCARDING their employees by sending their jobs to China while he CONTINUES to hide his money in offshore bank accounts to avoid paying a similar percentage of taxes as you and I pay. I'm glad you're on our team so we can keep the Wall Street crowd and their Mitt muppet at bay for at least another 4 years!

We don't care if Mitt Romney was born in Kenya, hates America and shoots hoops with Jay-z and Snoopp Dogg.... We will still vote for him. Hmm, sound familiar?

Im surprised that the editor let you do a local Mitt Romney ad, but ok. You trust a man that has changed his position monthly on his stances; he is in bed with China and you probably cant even afford to go there; he could careless about teachers, but says he loves us(and you criticize President Obama for sarcasm); just like all Republicans he did not want to bring troops home, until he finally figured out that people approved; and last but not least he hasn't given 1 detail about how he plans to create these 12 million jobs, and his budget plan DEFINITELY does not add up!!! You surely can't be part of the 47%, but you know someone who is!!!

Sportsflunky: Hmmm... You just wont stop will you. You can't win against me, I'm always right. I say exactly in public what I say on here. I have no fear of anyone(but God). If more people would be as I am, the world would be a better place. The reason people do and act in less than desirable ways is because people like you don't want to offend anyone. People don't know they are doing wrong if noone tells them, I do. Like a fat overweight kid eating cookies all the time, if noone calls him fatso, he'll just continue to overeat and kill himself. I'm here to not let that happen. I have compassion.

Ross glad you found a typo in my last post, but look at you own. Quality??? How do you spell hatred, hatrid? I'm confused, lol!!!! No I am not, but you are. If that is Obama's statement that you quoted in your last post, should it not have an apostrophe? I will not say anything else about QUALITY, but you can come to me for grammar tips at any time. Jockstrapper/Sportsjunk loves to educate those that want to better themselves.

Ross, I am sad to know you led any troops, even if it was only to the dining halls. I'm sure our military was still segregated at that point. I have read your post on here for quite some time, and the Army is surely better off without you. Unfortunately you landed amid some decent human beings. It's good that sights like this give you a chance to voice your opinion, because otherwise you would not dare say some of the things you have posted in a public forum. I'm not attacking you just your lack of class.

Sportjunk, Opps, you done went and donnit again... You said "you are what society wants, "a" educated man". WRONG. In your world of liberals you're out buddy. What's IN is minorities, both color and gender. Your out pal, no longer wanted or needed.

See on our side we don't look at gender, color etc... We look at quality. And judging by your remaks and grammer you're not wanted over here either.......

Jockstrapper, You're right I did get my GED while I was in the Army as a 17 year old kid years ago. And went on to become a successful business owner and a devout Republican.

You mentioned 47%.... Did you hear of Obamas 70% comments? In his book he stated his disdain and hatrid for white America, imagine that, he hates white folks who make up 70% of the US population. I hope you're not one of the hated.....

Golfman, my opinion of someone has nothing to do with my professionalism. You seem quick to defend Ross, who consistently makes inflamatory comments on this site(birds of a feather..... you know the rest). Golfman, what seems to be the problem with me being a teacher. I'm what society wants; a educated middle-aged male.

Ms. Smith and Rossis???, I am sure you voted Bush/Cheney as well. Do i have to say how much they have helped the economy. Do you need info on Haliburton/KBR, OWNED AND OPERATED by Mr. Cheney while he was VP.

In a tenth of the time it took you to comment, you could have Googled "Romney Five Point Plan" and you would find more than one dreaded, pesky detail at the following... WARNING - more content than a box score.

http://www.mittromney.com/jobsplan

Might I suggest you confine your comments to the sports section? Seems that is your self-declared discipline. Blind allegiance and fanaticism, regardless of performance, fits right in over there. Accurate, informed political commentary sure ain't your strong suit.

@Ross. After reading their post, I would hope the "SportsJunkie" is no teacher. You must be wrong.

Not a slip Ross. Not quite the coward you are. I am retired from one job as well. Incompetence has nothing to do with me revealing my profession. Wrong word, but i guess your GED didn't have a vocabulary test. Get a life. Ms. Smith I respect your decision to vote for whomever you feel is best qualified. Ross dust your Hood off, and brush your horse mane;I hear there is a meeting tonight.
