Broughton Oxendine, 66, of 4755 W. Great Marsh Church Road, died Nov. 3, 2012, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Zion Hill Baptist Church, the Revs. Nicholas McNeill and Hedrick Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Oxendine was born in Robeson County on April 24, 1946, the son of the late Charles H. and Priscilla Brayboy Oxendine. He was a self-employed construction owner.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Orba Oxendine, George Von Oxendine, Charles Hamp Oxendine, Willie Clayton Oxendine, Orbell Thompson, Fairlon Oxendine and Martha Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene McNeill Oxendine of the home; his children, Tammy Lou Bell and husband Ernest Bell, Tonya Ann Stone and husband Randy Stone, Jonathan Broughton Oxendine and wife Tammy Maynor Oxendine, Jack Martin Oxendine and wife Katie Locklear Oxendine, Shannon M. Hall, Erica H. Webb and Bobbie Jo Hall; two sisters, Carolyn Locklear and husband Clifford Locklear, and Genella Lowery; a brother, John Oxendine and wife Rebecca Oxendine; 12 grandchildren, Cassaundra D. Bell, Ernest Bell IV, Darrin Gabriel Oxendine, Tyler Paige Locklear, Mia Stone, Janna-Rae Oxendine, Alex Stutts, Nick Veneziano, Jakobe Bratcher, Lillian Webb, Brianna Ferguson, Cameron Ferguson; and three great-grandchildren, Ernest Bell V, Jaryan Gabriel Oxendine and Jadiason A. Oxendine.

Arrangements are by Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
