LUMBERTON — If the customer service at CiCi’s Pizza in Lumberton were a pie chart, satisfaction would make up biggest slice.

That’s because the local restaurant was recently recognized by CiCi’s Pizza corporate office as providing the highest overall customer satisfaction of all its North Carolina restaurants.

Customers voted by following the instructions on the back of their receipts for an online survey. Upon completion, they received either a free drink at their next visit to the restaurant at 3221 Fayetteville Road or a large, one-topping carry-out pizza for $3.99.

“I treat the customers well,” said Ralph Delvalle, the general manager of the Lumberton location. “I check on tables and make sure everyone is getting what they want. If they want a pizza with toppings we’re not offering, we’ll make it for them.”

Delvalle received a gold pin and a $265 check as part of the store’s recognition.

CiCi’s Pizza offers a $3.99 buffet with all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, salad and desserts all day, every day. The store promotes it as the best buffet deal of all the pizza chains in the state.

“I wanted to see if I could make the buffet for $3.99 and increase business, and that’s what we did,” Delvalle said.

Customer Aliyah Melvin, who was visiting the chain with her family from Fayetteville, said, “The price is right.”

Pausing from eating her pizza, Gwen Owens, also of Fayetteville said, “The customer service is always good. They are courteous and they clean up the tables. If you ask for a pizza with toppings that are not on the buffet, they will make it.”

The store, which is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, also offers soups and salads, wings and desserts and more than 25 types of pizza.
