UNCP to present musical showcase

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke will hold a musical extravaganza at the Givens Performing Arts Center on Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature more than 100 UNCP musicians as well as the inaugural lighting of the UNCP holiday tree.

Tickets, which support student scholarships, are available at the GPAC box office. They cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and children.

RCC Foundation hosting talent show

LUMBERTON — Robeson Community College Foundation will hold a Christmas Talent Show featuring the Robeson Community College Ensemble Choir on Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the college at 5160 Fayetteville Road.

There will be performances by the Robeson County Christmas Show performers and American Idol finalist Victoria Huggins, among others.

Tickets are $3 for children 10 and under and seniors older than 65, $5 for adults and free for RCC students with an ID. For information, call Rebekah Lowry at 910-272-3235.

Tickets to dance with county stars available

LUMBERTON — Tickets for the second annual Dancing with the Robeson County Stars, which cost $30, are available for purchase at the United Way office at 202 N. Chestnut St., or by phone with a credit card by calling 910-739-4249.

The event will be held on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. and will raise money for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides a free book monthly to children 5 and under.
