LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent murder of a 31-year-old Florida man whose body was found on Friday.
Ernst Rajkumar, of North Miami, was found dead in a ditch on the 900 block of Dallas Road about 1:30 p.m. Friday after a passerby saw the body and called 911, according to sheriff’s Capt. Anthony Thompson. He had suffered a gunshot wound.
Investigators aren’t sure how long the body had been there before it was discovered, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch.
“We think it was there just a few days,” Branch said. “We know it wasn’t there long, but it’s hard to say exactly.”
It was unclear how many times Rajkumar has been shot.
