HIGH POINT — A Robeson County man has been arrested and charged with a home invasion in High Point and police are looking for three others who may live in Lumberton or Rowland.

According to High Point police Lt. Kevin Ray, Jeffrey Quick, 45, of the Rowland and Lumberton areas, was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and possession of burglary tools.

Ray said that at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Quick and two other men forced their way into a home on the 500 block of Bridges Street in High Point; at least one of the men was armed with a handgun. But police interrupted the robbery, and Quick was arrested when he tried to escape to a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was waiting outside.

The two other men and a third man who was involved but had not entered the home were able to escape on foot.

Quick, who was also charged with failure to return rental property, was being held at the High Point jail on $100,000 bail.

Ray said that all the men who escaped are believed to live in Robeson County, most likely in Lumberton or Rowland.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ray at 336-883-7830 or Crimestoppers at 336-889-4000. Callers can remain anonymous.

Ross has some valid points in his posts, but he ponders on minorities and the NAACP absolutely too much. I agree some of his posts are downright ignorant. Thank you Mr. Douglas for censoring ignorant material for the most part. Hope they catch these menaces. I'd bet my last dollar they were all family members. We need scumbags off the streets. You all have a nice day.

This is a known tactic criminals will use to rob. When out of town visiting relatives or friends they will commit crimes and go home thinking they'll never be caught. There is a spike in home invasions around holidays when folks are visiting one another. Be vigilant people, especially an old car with out of state tags driving slowly thru wal-mart or your neighborhood...

In other words, profile.

At least the sorry THING went out of Robeson County to do his dirt. Shame that home owner didn't blow his head off.
