FAIRMONT — Barbara “Bobbie” Floyd Allen, 88, of Fairmont, passed away March 10, 2013, after an extended illness.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont, Pastor Ed Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont.

Bobbie was born in Robeson County on Sept. 5, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Dewey Gaston Floyd and Cleo Warwick Floyd.

She graduated from high school at Barnesville in 1945. Shortly thereafter, she married Horace Allen and they made their home in Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Berta Ahrendt and Eris Blanton; her brothers, Kermit Floyd and Euland Floyd; a grandson, David Hill; and a son-in-law, Elbert Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Horace Allen; her daughters, Shirley Hill of Smithfield, Joy Floyd and husband Foy of Fairmont; her sons, Johnie Allen and wife Diane of Fairmont, and Howard Allen and wife Melisa of Selma; her sisters, Carol Glaser and husband Bernie of Virginia Beach, Va., JoAnn Rushton and husband Dave of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brothers, Jake Floyd and wife Faye of Nashville, Tenn., Ray Floyd and wife Bertha Rose of Whiteville, Morris Floyd and wife Carol of Chadbourn, Giles Floyd of Whiteville, and Moses Floyd and wife Patsy of Lumberton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, and other times at 6095 Old Stage Road, Fairmont.
