Anne Sapp

LUMBERTON — Anne Timberlake Sapp, 86, of Greensboro, formerly of Lumberton, died March 13, 2013.

An entombment will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum in Lumberton, Dr. Ralph Richardson officiating.

She was born in Durham to the late W. Carr and Mildred Elizabeth Timberlake.

She was a graduate of Durham High School in 1944 and attended Salem College in Winston-Salem and Greensboro College in Greensboro, and received an Education degree at Pembroke State University. She had a combined total of 20 years as a teacher with Bladen County, and then as a librarian with the Lumberton City Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lumberton, and volunteered her time in the church library. She loved to read, play Bridge, and try new recipes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Sapp, and a son, David W. Sapp.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice and Elizabeth Sapp of Greensboro; two grandsons, Kevin C. Sapp of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Ethan M. Sapp of Wilmington; and two brothers, Dr. Robert Timberlake and W. Carr Timberlake Jr., both of Winston-Salem.

A time of visitation will follow the service at the cemetery.
