LUMBERTON — James “Harold” Hunt, 74, of 3001 W. Fifth St., Lumberton, was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Robeson County to the late Dobb Oxendine Sr. and Etta Hunt and departed this life on March 11, 2013, at the Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Pembroke First Baptist Church, the Revs. Kent Chavis, David L. Walker and Samuel Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt family cemetery.
Hunt was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Maxine Maynor Hunt; his parents; a son, James H. Hunt II; and several siblings.
Hunt leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Billy Hunt of Tuscon, Ariz., and Steven Hunt (Katherine) of Pembroke; a daughter in-law, Collen Hunt of Lexington, Ky.; five grandchildren, Joey Hunt, Courtney Hunt, Ratkwenyehs Hunt, Cedric Hunt and Lauren Hunt; and a host of relatives and friends.
The visitation will be 6:30 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.
