HAMER, S.C. — Alton Dewey Bracey, 76, died March 13, 2013, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Bracey was born May 2, 1936, in Dillon County, the son of the late Howard Ewing and Nancy Eliza Bracey. He served in the Army during the Cold War and was a Mason. He was a retired textile worker with Charles Craft Company in Hamer and a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.

He was preceded by his brothers, McCoy, Percey, Carrol, Marvin and Forrest Bracey; and a sister, Grace Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Collins Bracey; a son, Charles H. Bracey of Hamer; a daughter, Susie Moore (William) of Latta; a grandson, Joshua Moore of Latta; and a sister, Lois Hodge of Rowland, N.C.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
