PEMBROKE — There will be a Career Closet Yard Sale on Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke on the University Center Lawn.

The sale will help students and job seekers in the community to build professional wardrobes without breaking the bank. All items will be available for less than $10.

“Interview attire can be expensive,” said Mallory Bower, assistant director of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Career Center. “Students and job-seekers that have been unemployed for some time may not be able to afford these items. The sale will help remove a barrier to career success.”

The Career Center is still accepting donations of gently used professional clothing items such as business suits, blazers, slacks, skirts, blouses, collared shirts and other items. Clothing should be clean and free of stains or tears. To donate items, call 910-521-6833 to arrange a pickup. Drop-off points are located at Hi-Lites Ladies’ Clothing in Laurinburg, and in the Career Center on The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s campus.

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Career Center provides career development services and activities for all students and alumni. The Career Center offers services to assist students in clarifying their career choices, defining their job search strategies, and pursuing internship, employment, and/or graduate school opportunities. To make an appointment, call 910-521-6270 or visit the Chavis University Center, Suite 210.
