FAIRMONT —Three brothers are among four men who have been charged with a home invasion that happened earlier this month.

Anthony McCollum, 20, of Waynesville Mobile Home Park, Lumberton, Michael McCollum, 19, of 409 D Meadow Wood Apartments, Fairmont, Kevin McCollum, 19, of 4612 Dominion Road, Fayetteville, and Sterling Hester, 18, of 409 D Meadow Wood Apartments, Fairmont, are each charged with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy, according to Sheriff Kenneth Sealey. Each was being held under a $75,000 bond.

Anthony McCollum and Michael McCollum were arrested on Jan. 11, and Kevin McCollum and Hester were arrested on Jan. 20. The McCollums are brothers, and Hester is their cousin.

Francisco Sierra, 27, and Dana Bodiford, 22, reported on Jan. 4 that four gunmen came into their home on J.W. Road in Fairmont and stole property, according to a sheriff’s report. Bodiford said that one of the men placed a gun to her head and forced her to the bedroom while the others began stealing items from the house. Two young children were in the home at the time. Nobody was injured.

Stolen were $1,170 in electronics and $20 in cash. The intruders also stole $300 in car speakers but they were later recovered by deputies.

According to Sealey, items from the home invasion and separate larcenies from Lumberton, Fairmont, and Rowland were found in Hester’s home. The Sheriff’s Office and Fairmont police are trying to determine if any of the four men are connected to other home invasions.

TO tellingitlikeitis: What r u talking about!? U must don't read my comments correctly.

U Disagree with me.. then u agree with me! Meaning I've always said it's about choices!! THE PROBLEM IS THERE R NO CHOICES 4 THE YOUNGER FOLK!!!

If choices were available..doesn't mean they all would take advantage of the options.. it just means that they do have a choice. That doesn't excuse these guys 4 what they did in no way.

Just as a thought... 4 guys in a car.. one says lets go invade a home and get paid! But theres one that says nah!.. im going 2 the youth center or 2 the recreation center..They having tryouts 4 basketball! Right there they would've had a OPTION!

To: shiprince,

No longer can we blame young people doing wrong on they have nothing to do. If that being the case every youth in Robeson County would be posted in the newspaper for home invasion. It's all about CHOICES....

PercyKution: Your comment is quite funny. Even more so true! I concur!! Lol

To GladToHearit: I agree with your first comment. But your second I don't. Meaning... The projects r no different from a trailer/trailer park or a house in the country or city limits.. where the people recieve the same public assistance. Where their grown kids live with them also. Where tax payers r paying 4 them all 2 live as well. That's public housing also. Just because the dwelling sets off by itself doesn't mean it's not public housing. Tax payers dollars are tax payers dollars!

No matter where one lives. One's address does not depict their demeanor!

There's no activity 4 the youth at all! no matter what their address is. Think about it... When they get into the car 2 go hangout...whats their options? sex,selling/using drugs etc. or worst? Thats the problem.

Let's just hope the "parents" are too old or they've been "fixed" so they don't turn out another litter like this one. These boys make a fine case for retro-active abortion.
