LUMBERTON — A Lumberton teenager was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from his truck in a single-vehicle wreck on Lamb Road, according to the Highway Patrol.
Ryan Douglas Locklear, 19, of 253 Ridgefield Drive, died at about 9:57 p.m. when his 2006 GMC pickup truck crossed the center line while entering a curve, exited the road to the left, struck a ditch and overturned several times, according to the accident report by Trooper James Jones.
Locklear, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed immediately, according to the report.
The report said Locklear was driving 75 mph in the 55-mph zone. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor.
Damage to the truck, which is registered to Randy Locklear of the same address, was estimated at $7,000, according to the accident report.
