Two golfers scored holes-in-one recently at Fairmont Golf Course.
Kristen Baker of Fayetteville had an ace on the 113-yard No. 5 when she knocked in a hybrid.
Sammy Davis had a hole-in-one while participating in the annual golf tournament to raise money for the softball team at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke on Nov. 3. He used a 9-iron to find the cup from 110 yards on No. 15.
The team of Tom Lee, Daniel Lee, Randy Graham and Ricky Lawson won the UNCP tournament after shooting a 17-under-par 55 and then winning a card playoff. The second-place team, also with a 55, was Kirk Hamilton, Brian Haymore, Jimmy Stone and Butch Lennon. Ronald VanDyke, William Jackson, David Merit and Daniel Davis came in third with a 58.
Twenty teams participated.
Monday Old Hackers winners were Cary Pittman, Tom Southerland, Kathy Gaddy and Bill Gaddy.
Pinecrest CC
Tommy Britt recently had a day to remember, shooting a 5-under-par 67 that included six birdies and an eagle.
The Pembroke Recreation Department tournament will be held at Pinecrest CC on Nov. 26, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $60 per player and includes lunch.
The tournament format is four-person captain’s choice. All proceeds from the tournament will support the Pembroke Recreation Department in its mission to provide support to the athletes, activities and programs at the Pembroke Recreation Complex.
