LUMBERTON — Southeastern’s Hospice’s three-day Festival of Trees event, with its “A Holiday to Remember” theme, will open its doors on Dec. 2 in the Osterneck Auditorium at 102 N. Chestnut St., across from the Robeson County Public Library from 1 until 5 p.m.

It will continue Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, opening each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The festival, which features exquisitely-decorated theme trees, also includes the Unique Boutique gift shop, which offers fresh-baked goodies, specialty food, crafts and gift items, such as holiday ornaments, wreaths and centerpieces, for purchase. A special Memorial Tree, which features the names of Southeastern Hospice patients who have passed away since December 2011, will also be featured at the event.

Money raised by this 27th festival celebration will benefit Southeastern Hospice, established in 1985 as the only non-profit

hospice in the county, as well as Camp Care, an annual weekend camp for children 8 to 16 years old who have experienced the death of a loved one.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission is $3 for adults, and $2 for seniors and children over the age of 12. Children under 12 and members of Southeastern’s PrivilegesPlus program who present a membership card at the door will be admitted at no charge.
