Effie Mae Chavis, 81, of Pembroke, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2012, at Morrison Manor Hospice House in Laurinburg.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Benson Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Chavis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 58 years, William Chavis; two sons, Jerry Chavis (Lucy) and Ronnie Chavis (Denise) of Maxton; her daughters, Betty Johnson (Anthony) and Kathy Hunt, both of Pembroke, Darlene Mansfield (Perry) of Oak Island, and Marie Locklear (Marcus) of Rowland; a brother, Jesse Hunt of Red Springs; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke.
