LUMBERTON — Sylvia Nance, a mortgage loan officer in BB&T’s Southeast Mortgage Lending Department at 500 N. Pine St., has been promoted to assistant vice president of BB&T.
Nance, who joined the bank in 1988, is a native of Mullins, S.C., who earned her bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational development from Mount Olive College.
CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Company announced recently that it is making a $500,000 donation to The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, which recently broke ground in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, N.J.
The $500,000 donation will build the Campbell Healthy Community Kitchen within the Kroc Center, which is expected to serve thousands of daily meals and snacks to 350,000 visitors annually. Youths in the Early Childhood Education Center, after school programs and youth organizations will also eat meals served from the kitchen.
LUMBERTON — Edward Jones, a financial services firm, has been named the Advisory Solutions Firm of the Year by the Money Management Institute, according to Mary Jo Walter, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Lumberton.
The award, which was presented at the Institute’s annual Gateway to Leadership Awards Dinner, was given because the firm has exemplified overall excellence, and contributed to the long-term success and sustainability of the wealth management industry.
BLUEFIELD, Va. — First Community Bank recently named Rich Glenn a vice president and area executive for Bladen, Columbus and New Hanover counties.
Glenn recently served as a vice president and area executive for the former Waccamaw Bank and as an Agricultural Banker for PNC.
