Powell-Blount

Jane Powell of Fairmont and Perry Powell of Dublin announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Lyann Powell of Greenville, formerly of Fairmont, to Phillip Gregory Blount, Jr. of Greenville, the son of Phillip Gregory Blount, Sr. of Farmville,and Josephine Blount of Greenville.

Powell is the granddaughter of Epsie Lewis of Fairmont and the late Michael Lewis and late James and Rita Powell. She attended Fairmont High School and East Carolina University.

Blount is the grandson of the late George and Queen “Mu” Blount of Farmville, and the late Henry and Anna Cratch of Greenville. He attended J.H.Ross High School in Greenville and Grace Barber College. He is the owner and operator of Blounts Sanitary Barber Shop in Farmville.

The wedding will be held on Jan. 1 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
