ROWLAND — Arnold Jacobs, 63, of 189 Reo Drive, Rowland, was born on March 16, 1949, to the late Jesse Jacobs and Daisy Lee Jacobs and departed this life for his eternal home on Jan. 1, 2013, at Hospice of Scotland County.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Elrod Baptist Church, the Revs. Gary Chavis, Roy W. Locklear Jr. and Donnie Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to his parents, Jacobs was preceded in death by four brothers, Timothy Jacobs, Lee Tracy Jacobs, Ronnie Jacobs and Britten Jacobs.
Jacobs is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mona L. Jacobs of the home; five children, Aaron W. Jacobs and Morgan L. Jacobs, both of the home, James Jacobs and wife Mary of Johnson City, Tenn., Candy Pierce and husband Stephen of Welcome, and Monica Chavis and husband Dustin of Rowland; eight grandchildren, Kaylee, MacKenzie, Amber, Benjamin, Adrian, Olivia, Abigail and Joshua; two brothers, James Lanty Jacobs and Donald Jacobs, both of Rowland; two sisters, Margaret Murray of Rowland, and Margonia Hammonds of St. Pauls; and a special nephew, Jamie Jacobs of Rowland; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.
