HIGH POINT — A Robeson County man has been arrested and charged with a home invasion in High Point and police are looking for three others who may live in Lumberton or Rowland.
According to High Point police Lt. Kevin Ray, Jeffrey Quick, 45, of the Rowland and Lumberton areas, was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and possession of burglary tools.
Ray said that at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Quick and two other men forced their way into a home on the 500 block of Bridges Street in High Point; at least one of the men was armed with a handgun. But police interrupted the robbery, and Quick was arrested when he tried to escape to a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was waiting outside.
The two other men and a third man who was involved but had not entered the home were able to escape on foot.
Quick, who was also charged with failure to return rental property, was being held at the High Point jail on $100,000 bail.
Ray said that all the men who escaped are believed to live in Robeson County, most likely in Lumberton or Rowland.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ray at 336-883-7830 or Crimestoppers at 336-889-4000. Callers can remain anonymous.
