LUMBERTON — Because of the possibility of bad weather that could cause hazardous roads, the Public Schools of Robeson County will release students early on Friday, at 1 p.m.
The forecast for Friday includes a 60 percent chance of precipitation that could include ice or snow in the evening as temperatures begin falling. Local officials are warning of the possibility of “black ice” that could cause traffic accidents.
The earlier release time will give the system’s buses more time to complete their routes in advance of poor driving conditions.
