Walter Marshall Jr.

LAURINBURG — Walter Galvenston Marshall Jr., 77, of Laurinburg, passed away Jan. 23, 2013.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marshall was raised at the Mills Home Baptist Orphanage in Thomasville. He was the son of the late Helen Whidden Marshall and Walter G. Marshall Sr. He worked as a maintenance supervisor with Paramount Paper Company, retiring after many years of service.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Crouch; a brother, George Marshall; and a half-brother, Edgar Whidden.

Walter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma Hill Marshall of the home; two daughters, Angie D. Marshall of the home, and Diane Cusimano and husband Charles of Spring Hill, Fla.; three sons, Walter Junior Marshall and wife Pam of Archdale, Terry A. Marshall and wife Elizabeth of Maxton, and Ronald Marshall and wife Patricia of Asheboro; a sister, Joy Hill of High Point; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be made to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, N.C., 28353.
