PEMBROKE — A benefit bike run is being held April 7 to benefit the victim of a motorcycle accident.
Myra Oxendine-Bell was injured late last year when a bike fell on both of her legs. That led to surgery, including a rod being placed in one leg. She and her husband Scott are under financial stress.
The 70-mile bike run will begin at 1 p.m. at the C&P Mart in Pembroke and end at Lacy Cummings’ home at 75 Gene’s Road in Pembroke. The cost is $10 per rider, $15 per couple. The event will include a raffle with door prizes.
An auction that will include a handmade quilt and 12 gauge pump shotgun will take place at Cummings’ home. Food will be served at the home beginning at 3 p.m. and non-riders are welcome.
