LUMBERTON — Glenn McMillan, a musician from Lumberton, is set to release a book this year.

McMillan is a professor of music for City University in New York and the worship pastor of the Historic Concord Baptist Church of Christ in Brooklyn.

According to a statement from McMillan, in January he released a CD titled “Journey through Faith” that was produced by his childhood friend, Maurice Rogers.

Crossbooks Publishing has agreed to publish his first manuscript “The Priest and the Levite” this year, a book that highlights the relationship between the pulpit and the organ bench.

“So often musicians forget about the role and the calling and allow the glamour or the stage to give reference,” McMillan said.

McMillan is already working on a second book, “Is There a Balm in Gilead?”
