Eva Hammonds
LUMBERTON — Eva Mae Hammonds, 92, of 3031 Old Allenton Road, died Feb. 11, 2013, at her home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Elizabeth Heights Baptist Church, the Rev. Ronald N. Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.
Hammonds was born in Robeson County on Jan. 1, 1921, a daughter of the late Rich and Mattie Deese Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, the Rev. Irvin Hammonds; and two daughters, Retha Spain and Lessie Godwin.
She is survived by her sister, Core Lee Jacobs; a son, Jeffery Hammonds (Tabitha); her granddaughter and caregiver, Marlena Butler (Charlie); a special caregiver, Rachel Hunt; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren, all of Lumberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
