Ida Strickland
LUMBERTON — Ida Mae “Dal” Jones Strickland, 98, of 212 Hines St., died Feb. 15, 2013.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Revs. Thurman Scott and William Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Word of Truth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Strickland was born in Robeson County on April 22, 1914, a daughter of the late Neil and Ida Lowry Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Strickland; a daughter, Annette Strickland; three sons, N.L. Strickland, Garnvell Strickland and Varnell Strickland.
She is survived by six daughters, Yvonnie Sampson, Evonnie Tyler, Eva Mae Sampson, Ruth McGee, Hellen Strickland, and Nancy Wilcox; two sons, David Strickland and Earl Strickland; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
