Green Grove names

its top employees

FAIRMONT — The certified and classified employee’s of the month at Green Grove’s Elementary School have been announced.

Linda McKenzie was chosen as Green Grove’s certified employee of the month. She is a kindergarten teacher and has more than 30 years of experience and continues to love teaching.

Danielle Kerns was chosen as Green Grove’s classified employee of the month. She serves as the school secretary and is involved in many daily activities to ensure school and student success.

Both employees were provided with a gift for their work and dedication to Green Grove Elementary School.

Ray gets scholarship

to ministers conference

ST. PAULS — Keyshaee Ray, a graduate of St. Pauls high School, recently received a scholarship to attend the Ministers Interdenominational Conference that was held in Fayetteville on Feb. 27.

Ray is a student at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Parent Night is Monday

at Lumberton Junior

LUMBERTON — Parent night will be held at Lumberton Junior High School on Monday at 6:30.

Students of the eighth grade and their parents will learn about the registration process, ninth grade classes and upcoming activities to prepare students for high school.

‘Faces in the Moon’

is topic of discussion

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke will be holding a literature discussion on the book “Faces in the Moon” on March 19 and March 26 and on April 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each day in the regional center.

The meetings are open to anyone and there is no cost to participate. The space is limited to 15 people per discussion. Books will be available to check out. To sign up or check out a copy of the novel, call Querida Hunt at 910-775-4000 or email her at querida.hunt@uncp.edu.
