RED SPRINGS — Bettie S. Herndon, 80, of 1103 E. Fourth Ave., died Feb. 23, 2013, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, the Rev. Dawn West officiating. The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church.

FAIRMONT— John A. Bristow, 61, of 55 Darius Road, died Feb. 22, 2013, at Duke Medical Center in Durham. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church in Proctorville. The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hills Funeral Home.
