ROWLAND — The Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that happened Monday that left a man hospitalized with a head injury.

According to Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives, Tommy Miller and Don Lepine were at the home of Lepine’s mother at 760 E. Horne Road drinking when the men began to argue over an “obscene comment” Miller made toward Lepine’s mother.

Thompson said Lepine told Miller to leave, but Miller, after exiting the home, returned with a lug wrench and the two men struggled, with Miller falling to the ground and hitting his head on cement.

Miller was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center. His condition was not available, but Thompson said he believes that Miller is still “unconscious.”
