LUMBERTON — A Lumberton woman has been charged with six felony counts of fraud related to the use of a credit card that doesn’t belong to her, according to Lumberton police.

Elisha Nicole Bowden, 27, of 750 Moores Lane, Lumberton, was arrested on Friday and charged with five counts of obtaining property under false pretenses and one count of wrongful possession of property, according to Capt. Terry Parker of Lumberton Police Department.

“She used a credit card that wasn’t hers and kept that card,” Parker said.

Bowden made her first court appearance on Monday and was released on an unsecured bond.

County administrators confirmed Bowden works at the Robeson County Tax Office, but said the matter was personnel and they could not release any other information.

What the hell does her last name have anything to do with it? Obviously she was probably broke and desperate...that's why the incident occurred in the beginning! Think outside of the box sometimes! No one is hiding a thing; your nosiness cant be satisfied then oh well, youve been told enough!

This is tragic. Why is she protected? Seems that when it happens to a county worker or relative of a Commissioner it is hidden away. The Lady that faces 5 years for Medicaid Fraud was big news with all of the details. Come on County Administrators why is it personnel? Will she be back at work the next day. Who's credit card? Did they ever find out who stold the computers at the Board of elections? Of course not. Inside jobs are hidden and protected. Wake up people! Get someone from the outside to take a hard look at what is going on in our county. The ROBESONIAN can't do it all. Help them. We have to now worry about LREMC when Raymond Cummings takes over the CEO position. Pembroke will be happy when he starts dumping our money back into Comtec. So, who gets his job working with the school board transportation office??? When will the cycle end???? Those of us that have NO job due to the choke hold that the Commissioners have on the county, Aren't you fed up with the inside job trading and back scratching? Get rid of them and maybe we will have a fair chance to get a job that we are qualified for. Keep digging Robesonian. We appreciate your efforts to inform the citizens that care about Robeson county.
